The Semi was first introduced in 2017 and has since generated a lot of excitement in the electric vehicle world. According to the initial plans, it was supposed to be launched in 2020, but due to some production challenges, it could only go into production towards the end of 2022. Only 70 units of the Semi were produced in the first year, and these were mostly delivered for internal testing and to large customers like PepsiCo.
Tesla’s new factory aims to significantly increase the Semi production capacity. Tesla plans to produce 50,000 Semi units annually at this new factory. The foundation of the factory has been laid, and construction work is progressing rapidly. Semi Project Manager Dan Priestley shared up-to-date photos of the construction process and render images showing how the factory will look once completed.
The images highlight the size and modern design of the factory. This new truck factory will enable Tesla to gain a significant foothold in the electric heavy vehicle market. The Semi is a vehicle that stands out with its high range and powerful performance.
Thanks to the new factory, Tesla’s Semi production capacity will increase, allowing it to reach a broader customer base. What do you think? Share your thoughts on Tesla’s new Semi factory in the comments section below.
